Day three saw us arrive at Wattle Downs Merino Stud and Farm Stay. We overwhelmed them somewhat. Our original number of nine was as much as they could comfortably handle. However as more people were added to the contingent we were left with a choice of staying at Wattle Downs or spreading out to other places. The final decision was to all stay at Wattle Downs despite the stretching of resources. We drank them out of a week's beer on the first night. Then after a great camp oven dinner we made short work of their supply of red wine as well.
Next day was a rest day but saw an emergency flight to Tara (about 20 miles away) for supplies to get us through the next night!
The camp fire was the hub of the night life and many jokes and tall stories were told while the red wine supply was depleted. We even had our own tour guide, Debbie, from the local tourism authority who came to help the owners keep us under control.
Next day the presence of a nice runway surrounded by trees proved too tempting for some of the boys and provided an ideal opportunity for some tuition on shortfield landings.
Once the lessons were over the Long EZ was fired up to give a great display of fast and furious flying.
