Secret Men's Business is a bunch of private pilots from the North Queensland Aero Club, based at the Cairns International Airport, Cairns, Queensland in Australia.
Every year we do a week-long flying trip somewhere across the country. The trips started about eight years ago and usually have about six to eight people on them.
As the name suggests our trips are boy's only - One thing we have found is that non-pilot passengers (wives in particular) get bored with long periods of flying and want to see things at the other end. Pilots tend to want to fly and just need a destination as somewhere to aim for. Our (pilots) interests are fairly similar as well so it makes planning much more straight-forward.
In addition we don't have to watch our language, or our bawdy jokes, and we can drink much more than we should.
The aero club has plenty of short weekend trips through the year to cater for wives and families.
Membership is pretty fluid and is pretty much open to whoever wants to come on the trip. Only a couple of the core members have been present right from the start.
