Day 6.   Canberra - Tamworth

Canberra put on a fine, cold morning for our departure via Parkes and Dubbo to Tamworth.   Again we crossed over central Canberra with some great views of Parliament House (No such thing as a restricted zone over our politicians - Does that say something!)

Dubbo proved to be a pleasent little airport with a welcoming Flying School who treated us to a cup of coffee while we watched the Roulettes come in for fuel on their way to Caboolture.

Tamworth was as busy as we were told to expect. Being the central flying school for a number of overseas airservices there were trainers (CT-4s)  everywhere.  But apart from John being told to land vertically from 1500 ft AGL "now!" the entry proved to be no major problem.  (The ATC obviously thought helicopters can go up and down vertically from any height and at any speed)

As it happened the advance party had been over to the motel and discovered that it was on the edge of town with a big back yard and was entirely appropriate for the helicopters to land there.  So we fired them all up again, and with the help of  a more knowledgable and friendly ATC flew in a loose formation across to the motel.
