Day 4.   White Cliffs - Canberra

This was the beginning of the really cold mornings and the helicopters didn't like it.  From here on, until Caboolture, we had at least one of the helicopters each morning needing a boost to get them going.  This came in the form a can of Aerostart, or in our case a can of a generic brand called "Start Ya Bastard!"  There seemed to be no real consistancy as to which machine needed the help.  But "Start Ya Bastard"  did the job.

White Cliffs was left behind and we headed south-east toward Griffith.  The country gradually changed from desert to dry pastureland to farmland.  Ray and John stopped at Ivanhoe airport to top up from jerries.  Griffith Aero Club was a welcome sight with a great club house and facilities.

After a refuel and cup of coffee the final leg to Canberra was done with ease.  The country was, as expected, dry (in the midst of drought) but the weather was clear.

Canberra ATC were obliging with track over the city to some great views of the capital.
