Day Three - Western Cape York to Karumba

The day began with an early departure from Horn Island. After dutifully spraying all the aircraft with insecticide!

We headed south along pristine beaches and mangrove lined estuaries. While the rivers were isolated they weren't empty. Every one had a dinghy,  run-about or yacht in it.

The country was very dry and there were several large grass fires contributing to the haze.

Weipa was just another airport.  A stop to refuel, get inspected by the quarantine guy and spray out the aircraft again. Then back into the saddle heading for Karumba.
