Day 8 was spent at the 2004 Air Spectacular at Caboolture Airport
The show was pretty spectacular - not just for the flying but for the number and types of aircraft that were present. Large numbers of warbirds , piston and jets, were there as were current air force and navy aircraft. There were lots of lovingly restored antique aircraft and lots of current private aircraft, just like ours - polished up and flown in for the weekend.
No Australian Air show would be complete without the Roulettes in the PC-9s
The Royal Australian Navy put on an amazing display of helicopter aerobatics
The Catalina and a DC-3 represented the bigger WW II era air carft - while a squadron of fighters made for some exciting aero dispays. These included a number of Harvards, a Zero lookalike (Modified Harvard), a P 51 Mustang, a Boomerang, Fiat, Yak, an Avenger torpedo bomber.
A number of Yaks in spectacular paint jobs completed the fleet.
The Air Force had a C 130 Hurcules and Caribou both of which did some short field landings and take offs.
Even the kit makers were represented with both fixed wings and a kit Rotorway (This one is the older Exec 90)
